A stylised wooden plank material for a tutorial series I'm working on. The idea of the project is to show the explorative process behind environment art. One of my favorite parts of a pipeline is figuring out the best way to make something, and I wanted to document this process as an alternative to other fantastic tutorials that are out there. Due to other commitments, I can't spend as much time on this project as I'd like, but will continue where I can.
This material was built by incorporating zbrush into painter to create a painterly/ sculpted look while still taking advantage of the power of designer. New decals or images can be slotted in and moved without issue, creating a very robust iterative process.
